Mercer Global Advisors has completed the rollout of Aspen Investing, the proprietary platform that now handles portfolio construction, private-markets access and tax management for more than 43,000 client accounts. The RIA reports $110 billion in assets under management. Mercer said the system gives advisors a single portfolio management dashboard, with the stated aims of lowering portfolio costs and widening access to custom strategies at scale.

Aspen Investing was developed with Orion and uses unified managed accounts to hold strategies from multiple third-party managers, public and private, in one account. Its private-markets program, Aspen Partners, was built with Opto Investments and spans private equity, private credit, venture capital, real estate and infrastructure.

Mercer's investment team, more than 125 professionals under CIO Donald Calcagni, runs direct indexing in-house and oversees the platform. The feature set includes daily tax-loss harvesting, a capital gains tax budget, integration of legacy positions carrying unrealized gains, and enhanced reporting and risk monitoring.

Mercer layered the platform over Schwab, Fidelity and Raymond James rather than replacing custody. It kept investment decisions in-house while using vendor technology. Aspen 2.0, released in July, carries data and workflows; Aspen Investing carries the portfolios.

Calcagni said Aspen Investing was designed to give every client access to the kind of portfolio management typically reserved for endowments and large institutions.
